National Eating Disorders Awareness Week
Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) is an annual initiative aimed at educating the public about the realities of eating disorders while offering hope and visibility to those affected, as well as their loved ones. In 2025, Eating Disorders Awareness Week will be observed from Monday, February 24, to Sunday, March 2.
Eating disorders have the second-highest mortality rate among mental health disorders, with one death occurring every 52 minutes due to these conditions. Unfortunately, many individuals are unaware of the barriers that can hinder recovery, such as a lack of understanding about eating disorders and their effects.
This year’s theme, “The Time is Now,” seeks to change this perspective by emphasizing the importance of sharing knowledge and resources, promoting early detection and treatment, and supporting ongoing research efforts.
